TECH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Starting the week of May 6, 2020, SUS will be updated to support paying driver reimbursements, credit card/gift card tips, and delayed payment tips onto an electronic form of payment such as a pay card versus cash from the till.

This new process will allow you to work with your polling vendor to supply information to your pay card provider. Click HERE for a copy of the new poll file spec (ElectronicDriverPaymentsSpec).  A follow up communication will be sent to describe the restaurant process along with guide.

What Changed:

  • Two new poll files created containing tip and reimbursement amounts.
    • The new poll files will consist of 1) a per-driver file available immediately after a driver closes their driver bank and 2) a roll-up file with all drivers for that day available at End of Day.  Please see attached spec for details, ElectronicDriverPaymentsSpec.
  • Driver Cash Out and Driver Log off:
  • Modified to support no cash being handed to the driver
  • Automatically records a Paid In to offset not paying driver in cash

  • Driver Activity Record and Driver Audit

Activation:

Please note:

  • Details of these changes are being sent to all approved polling vendors
  • Franchisee is responsible for communication between your polling vendor and your pay card provider
  • This is for Delivery Drivers only, Dine in Servers are not supported in this release
  • Once this feature is enabled,  SUS assumes all drivers will be reimbursed electronically not with cash from the till
  • The ability to control this feature by driver will come in a future enhancement
  • Area Coach and Region Coach information is not included in the poll files

Any additional questions about enabling this feature, please contact PHTECH@yum.com

As you are aware, this year all SUS restaurants must have an operating system (OS) upgrade for purposes of security updates and to support new hardware. This upgrade will apply to the operating system and have minimal effect on any other applications.

On Monday 4/27/2020, we will begin the national rollout of upgrading your operating software.  Each week, rollouts will be scheduled Monday thru Wednesday and upgrade will be completed on the same day.  We anticipate completion for all restaurants will take a few months.

To prepare you for the upgrade, we will send a notification to the scheduled franchise groups each Tuesday.  Included in this notification will be a list of restaurants scheduled by day for the next week and an upgrade support document describing what to do before, during, and after upgrade as well as any changes to user applications.

ACTION: Our ask is that you review the information and forward the document to your RGMs on the week they are scheduled to upgrade. Someone in the restaurant will have to perform a few tasks the morning of the upgrade for the restaurant to be operational.   We suggest someone be assigned to come in no later than 9:00 AM to complete these tasks and ensure system is working.

This information will also be posted on the Restaurant Technology page under the SUS tab (here)

Any questions about the conversion or the schedule can be sent to PHTECH@yum.com.

For any issues that occur the day of the updgrade, please contact the PH Service Desk at 800-835-3379.
